Head’s Welcome

On behalf of the children, staff and Governors of Moorlands Primary Academy, I’d like to wish you a very warm welcome to our school. We are proud to be part of the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT).

We hope our website will give you a good flavour of life at Moorlands. We are all proud of our school and we are determined to ensure the best for every child. We aim to nurture children’s talents and abilities, providing opportunities for each child to reach their full potential and be happy, confident, resilient and enthusiastic learners. We are a welcoming, inclusive school and we understand the importance of working in partnership with parents: we encourage parental involvement in children’s learning, as well as fostering opportunities for the children themselves to be actively involved in their own learning.

Our Core Values are the basis of all that we do. They have been used as a way of healing and pulling the community together and as the basis of our thoughts, actions and educational bedrock. Our values have been especially relevant during the Covid pandemic and children, staff and parents have all had to show great resilience in particular.  All of our values are closely linked to The Bible and we make clear and overt connections to parables, Bible stories and examples of people living a Christian life and displaying Christian values. The Core Values are highly visible around the school, both in display and actions. Our vision is communicated through the Moorlands Way;

The Moorlands Way

We believe that our school should be at the heart of our community and that we should be actively involved in making our world, both locally and on a wider scale, a better place.

We believe that all of our children should be immersed in a high-quality learning experience that prepares them to be 21st Century Citizens. This means not only leaving Primary School being literate, numerate and well-rounded, but also being collaborative, creative and reflective.

We believe that, in conjunction with parents and carers, it is our responsibility to enable and support our children to make the best progress that they can and not place any limitations on what they can achieve.

We believe that our children should be supported by Core Values that rejoice both in what it is to be a citizen of the world and to be part of a school community with a deep and tangible Christian soul.

Our Core Values are:

Respect    Responsibility    Resilience    Empathy   Honesty    Compassion    Belief

Please feel free to contact the school with any questions. Myself, or one of the team will get back to you. If you would like to visit, we would be delighted to show you around.

Mr Kevin Lee
