Bishop’s Visit

On Thursday 5th February, the Bishop of Thetford, the Rt Revd Alan Winton, visited Moorlands.  Along with Rev Rosie Bunn, Bishop Alan took a whole school assembly to talk to the children about a special tree planting that was taking place that day.  In our collective worship, Rev Rosie Bunn also gave the school a prayer tree, on which Year 6 children added their own leaves.

Later that morning in the Forest School area, the church presented Moorlands with a tree which Bishop Alan and a group of children from Reception to Year 6 helped to plant.  The children, staff and parents then went to the church grounds where the head teacher Mr Lee presented the church with a tree to be planted, to show the close links between the church and our school.

Thank you to all the children and adults who made this such a special morning for our school and to The Village Voice for attending the event and taking some lovely photos.

More Staffing News

I am pleased to announce that Miss Tammi Quasniczka has been appointed as SENCO at the academy.
Miss Becky Grapes continues as SEN admin. I am delighted that this post has been permanently filled and would like to thank Miss Kellie Egleton from our sister Academy at Kessingland for temporarily taking this role since the previous SENCO left at Christmas.

Positive Visit

Last week the school was inspected by Mrs Gill Hipwell under the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) framework. We have received the verbal feedback and are currently awaiting the draft report. Once the report is checked for factual accuracy it will be published and shared with you.

What I can tell you is that Gill left the school saying that it was a “positive visit”.

We look forward to receiving the final report.
